Erin, I think doing a blog is a very good idea for you and all your friends who want to know how you are doing and what exactly is happening because we care about how you are felling and how you are doing.
For the writing itself, I think it will be a relief for you to write things down adn give these things some shape. This is important for you to keep yourself focussed on what is going on too...the facts and all that because if you get your emotions involved, which is inevitable, you can overlook or forget stuff and it will be there now on the page, well in cyberspace.
Things seem to be moving a quite a clip and perhaps not even fast enough for you. The surgery will be very soon so keep your mind busy with aht you love to think about for now and keep the faith please. We will all be helping you with that in our own, maybe somewhat inadequate ways.
All to say, It's a great way to keep a support network alive dear Erin.
There are no guarantees in life for anybody and I just hate that you have to be going through this trial now in your life and the unsure time as well that it involves...you will know soon enough what the path to wellness will be.
